Coordinator MUS-E Scotland
After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Jill began a career as a professional trumpet player and teacher. Following a spell with the Aberdeen International Festival of Youth Orchestras co-ordinating their music department and with the European Special Olympics co-ordinating all the non sporting events, Jill became administrator at the Glasgow Arts Centre in charge of a comprehensive programme of exhibitions, performances and educational classes. In 1996 she took up a post as music co-ordinator with East Renfrewshire Council and where she is presently a Quality Improvement Officer with responsibility for drama, art and design, music and creativity within 24 primary schools, 7 secondary schools and 1 special school. Jill has extensive experience in arts education and was responsible for introducing the Yehudi Menuhin MUS-E programme to Scotland.
