As you may know, the iyouwe SHARE THE WORLD press conference took place at the International Press Centre of Brussels, Belgium, on 8 October.
We were very honoured to welcome as speakers :
- Mrs Odile Quintin, Director General of the DG Education & Culture, European Commission
- M. Enrique Barón Crespo, President of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation (IYMF)
- Mrs Marianne Poncelet, Secretary General of the IYMF

Topic : Réflexion sur la relation à l’Autre, à partir d’une définition du terme ETRANGER

Comme le projet Iyouwe SHARE THE WORLD s’inscrit dans l’année européenne du Dialogue Interculturel et comme cette dimension de dialogue suppose la relation à l’Autre, je soumets à votre réflexion une définition du mot ETRANGER tirée du Dictionnaire des mots rares et précieux, Editions Seghers, 1965:
ETRANGER, verbe transitif qui signifie: Eloigner d’un lieu, en parlant d’animaux.
Parce que les mots que nous utilisons ne sont jamais neutres, nommer l’Autre est déjà une manière de le situer et de se situer soi-même par rapport à lui. C’est pourquoi, nous, qui manions le verbe, notamment avec les enfants, nous avons le devoir d’être toujours aux aguets pour que les rapports de force ne remplacent pas le dialogue!
